The meat processing in USA is a monopoly controlled by 4 billion dollar corporations specifically Tyson Foods, Cargill, JBS, and National Beef. If a farmer raises cattle, he has to get it processed. Meat processing is basically the farmer has to get the livestock slaughtered and packaged. By law, they cannot do it themselves. So some farmers tried to create their own meat processing by consolidating their own money, asking for donations, and so on.
Even if you can raise money, you cannot build your own because the bureaucracy will stop it. The system will make you fill out tons of paper work, make you wait for years, then deny it some bs reason like this land may have endangered chipmunks. The NGOs will come protesting it. There will be lots of legal battles. It is heavily regulated by the government. The system will give corporations leniency while destroying the common people. Meat processing didn’t become a monopoly for no reason. It is heavily corrupt.
If Trump can do this, great. Politicians are lots of talk, and sometimes no action. So we will have to wait and see.
