The Boys have one theme which is that these superheroes have mental and psychological problems that came from their childhood. Homelander didn’t have a father or a mother when he was growing up so he craves love and attention. He tries to get it from the people of the world. Butcher says in one of the episodes that these superheroes are nothing more than human beings and that the superpowers brings out or magnifies these emotional and mental problems inside of them.
All of us have this. This pain that started in a person’s childhood and it accumulates over and over. It becomes trauma. Painful situations in our childhood leave this residue that accumulates inside our body and mind, becoming trauma, insecurities, pain that must be avoided and so on. As the child becomes an adult, this trauma stays in the subconscious of the mind. It can get triggered by a situation or person. Once it gets triggered, it takes over the person. This pain, this anguish, this anger. It rises inside the person and takes over that person. It is like when I talked about my trigger. The deeper the pain, the stronger the negative emotion will be.
Past pain that becomes insecurities and traumas. In the show, you can clearly see whenever Homelander gets triggered cause he has a lot of insecurities. In the show, whenever I see it, I always ask the question. Why can’t these superheroes deal with their trauma and their hurt so that they can be better human beings and use their powers for people’s benefits? The answer to that is that these traumas and pain are very deeply rooted and it is scary for people to face them. It is like facing a dragon.
So This Pain
So this pain just keeps accumulating in the body and in the mind. They lay in the subconscious influencing the person. This can be seen with Homelander also on how his insecurities control his life and his actions. We can easily see it because he uses his superpowers whenever he gets insecure or whenever he gets triggered. When everything is good, this pain is dormant but we can still see that this pain influences the personality of the person.
A situation or another person will trigger these emotions causing lots of anger, hate and other negative emotions. This is how people can see their traumas. It is when this pain goes up and shows itself to the world that people can heal their traumas, pain and so on so that it never happens again. You can see the “dragon” and you can slay it or heal it.
Unfortunately, if you did not do your enlightenment, you will not recognize this. You will think that the world or other people caused this pain or distressed inside of you. “It is those far right people, it is their fault or it is those woke people, it is their fault that I am in so much anger.” Or whatever it is, you will just blame the world. If these people would just disappear, everything would be okay and I would not get triggered.

This is called a blessing in enlightenment when you can see your pain manifest into your world. You will notice that this pain will keep manifesting over and over unless you heal it. This pain and fears are inside of you, they are not outside. So even if you kill everyone, it will still manifest in a different situation or in a different person because it is inside of you. According to enlightenment, since this fear is inside of you, it can cause health problems, health issues, and make your immune system a lot weaker that it should be.
Collective Pain
This pain that lives in the body does not just comes from childhood traumatic events. They can come from the human collective consciousness. We live in a very insane world where war, slavery, rape, and other unloving things happen. All of these pain stays in the genes of people. So you have your pain, the pain of your ancestors, and the pain of the whole human consciousness. You have the pain of your past lives also.
So you are basically a walking, talking, and breathing container of pain. But you don’t need to carry all of these pain. You can heal them or let them go. You just need to realize that this pain is not you. This pain is not personal. This is not who you are. The pain and fears are created so they can be uncreated as well.
So when you get triggered
It is important to stand back and be the awareness. Just be aware of your body and the energy that is emanating from your body. Realize that these emotions are not who you are. They are just passing by. Whatever triggered them can be undone as well by healing them. By healing your mind.
Needs More Pain
This pain or trauma that stays in the body or lives in the subconscious needs more pain to survive. This is the human addiction to pain. It is the reason why people need drama and conflict in their life. This pain needs to feed. It needs to react to something to create more pain. It loves negativity. It doesn’t need to react to the world. It can just create negativity inside the mind. It creates thoughts of insecurity, thoughts of fear, thoughts of unworthiness or not good enough.
“I am not good looking enough or I am not attractive enough. I need more money. This person is dumb. This person is such a b*tch. This person is evil. He should be like this, and like that since he is so evil. And so on.”
This pain feeds on these thoughts over and over so that it can survive. Sometimes it wants others to react. It wants others to be in pain also. So people tend to create problems in relationships to get a reaction out of their partner because they need drama. They need more pain. Once it has had enough, it is full and no longer hungry, it lays dormant again until it is time to feed or until a situation or person triggers it again.
This Pain Needs Validation To Be In Pain
This pain that controls the body needs validation also that it is correct or right so that it can justify to itself that it can be in pain. It needs justification to being in pain. “Did you know what this guy did? He did this and so and so. Did you know what my ex did? He did this and this and so and so. He is so evil, I’m such a victim.” This is where gossip comes in. The person tries to bring in others to justify being in pain.
If you do your enlightenment, you will notice that the situations or people that trigger you are the same over and over and over. They have a same-ish type of quality in them. This is how you know that it is not the outside world that is causing it. It is something inside of you that is attracting these people and these situations. As long as you don’t heal your traumas, pain or insecurities, the same situations will keep reoccurring.
You Can See This Pain In Other People Easily
It is easy to see this in your partner. You married this person. This person is very lovely, smiles a lot, and fun to be with. All of a sudden, this energy takes over, they become something else. It is like a monster replaced this gentle and beautiful person. This monster is craving for more pain. If it cannot get any pain from you, it will try to get pain from the world.
What is bad about this is that there will be people who recognize their pain. They know what happened to them. But this gives them a reason to be in pain. So instead of healing their pain, they use it as a justification to be in pain, attack others and create more pain.
“This happened in my childhood so I am now triggered by these and that. Can’t blame me. It is my trauma.” “I hate people that do these or people that have this attitude because when I was a child this traumatic event happened to me. Can’t blame me. It is my childhood. I have the right to be angry since I am a victim.”
So the pain keeps on living as long as the person wants the pain to live. The pain also keeps on living if the person does not recognize that it comes from within or from the inner world and not from the outside world.
